The PPL Center is a sports arena located in downtown Allentown, PA; it opened in September of 2014.

In 2016, auto racing joined ice hockey, arena football, basketball, and pro lacrosse as sports events presented.

Three Quarter Midgets were the featured attraction in an indoor series that also included races in Atlantic City and Trenton, New Jersey. Indoor TQ and Micro Midget races had previously been held in Allentown inside Agricultural Hall at the fairgrounds, from 1962-1966.

The arena was sold out for the event. This was the first race in Allentown since a UMSA Mini Sprint race at the fairgrounds in June of 1989.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL are the ice hockey team that plays here. They moved from Philadelphia after the Spectrum was closed in 2009, first to New York as the Adirondack Phantoms until 2014, then to Allentown when the PPL Center opened.

The other resident team is the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, a professional indoor football team. Before the PPL Center opened, the team played at Stabler Arena on the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem.
